FAQs about the Wetlands Multi-Stakeholder Platform

Wetlands: our defence for a cleaner future

Wetlands play a vital role in biodiversity, climate resilience, and water management. To study how to protect them, the EU-funded project REWET was funded.

REWET is focusing on determining how the restoration and management of wetlands can be optimised to maximise their carbon uptake while in balance with type-specific natural processes and biodiversity. The project is studying freshwater wetlands, floodplains and peatlands restoration holistically, including social and economic aspects.

Recognizing their importance, the Wetlands Multi-Stakeholder Platform was created to bring together stakeholders from various sectors and to share insights, data, and successful restoration efforts. By fostering collaboration, we aim to accelerate wetland conservation and ensure sustainable management for future generations.
